Its been 23 years since I've been watching and following cricket.. Copying so many players, I grew up, in a country where Cricket is considered to be a religion.. Followed every series India played since then, watching, reading or listening.. Visualized every Indian captain's face in place of Kapil Paaji's '83 pics with the CUP in his hand and prayed during every World Cup for those hopes to come true..
Also,sometimes became one of those millions of critics shouting "KYA KAR RAHE HO YAAR! AZHAR KE BAS KI NAHI HAI AB.. SACHIN KO TOH CHALE JAANA CHAHIYE.. BOWLERS DEKHO INKE, KISI KAAM KE HAIN ? GANGULI AB UTAAR SHIRT.. YEH KISKO LE LIYA TEAM MAIN ? DHONI KA DIMAAG KHARAAB HAI.. AISE KHELTE HAI KYAA ??" .. whenever and where ever OUR team lost..!
5 world cups down.. I still had hopes.. High Hopes, I must say..! Because this team was different.. Different from what we had in last 5 World Cups.. I was able to feel that.. Don't know how!
No I am not a hardcore fan of Cricket.. I don't watch every match of every series.. But, just a normal Indian.. A normal Indian who has played little Cricket for his Class, School, Mohalla and Gully with pride.. A normal Indian who has some cricket in his daily conversations with friends.. his mood swings when India Wins or Looses any match.. his expectations for his team to win, every match! A normal Indian who has Cricket as part of his everyday life..
This morning I, that normal Indian, woke up happy.. with a big smile on my face and satisfaction in my heart.. Walked with my head held high.. Remembering every tense moment which I went through in last month.. Remembering how my hands were just tied to each other, praying, for those last 30 long overs.. Remembering super fast heartbeat which I was easily able to feel.. Remembering how I cheered for every run scored like it was a boundary.. Remembering how I shouted, clapped, hugged, danced for hours after that WIN!

h I will always cherish and talk about all my life.. A win which will be repalyed by billions in years to come.. A win which every Indian has been waiting for.. A win which will inspire all of us in some or the other way..
Thanks Indian Cricket Team for making us proud of you, our country and most importantly ourselves.. A Big Thanks for making us feel like winners!
And yes, I am still smiling, thinking about that SIX, every five minutes, which Dhoni hit to get us the CUP.. A SIX which made billions rise on their feet, clapping.. Thats imprinted. Imprinted deep in my mind from which it will never vanish! The moment of a Cricket World Cup Win!
